Our diverse programmes shape individuals into resilient, community--oriented leaders. The spectrum of activities provide platforms for skills application, fostering growth, camaraderie and a lifelong commitment to service.
Signature Programmes
Crime Scene InvestigationÂ
Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) course is conducted for Sec 1 and 2 cadets where they will have the opportunity to learn how to solve a crime. The Sec 3 cadets will then have an interactive hands-on experience and apply the crime scene management skills which they have learnt.
Law and Enforcement
The cadets learn about the knowledge that police officers need to perform their job well. There are two courses that the cadets go through to cover them, Police Procedure Course and Basic Law Course.
Adventure Training Camp @ Pulau Ubin
The cadets embark on an adventure where they are tested in leadership and and problem solving through dynamic activities. Interactions and friendship forged with cadets from other schools amplify the excitement and enrich the overall experience for our enthusiastic participants.
.22 Revolver Live Shoot
The Sec 2 and Sec 3 cadets are trained in the safe handling of the 0.22 Smith and Wesson revolver during dry practice before allowing them to experience the live shoot in the Home Team Academy (HTA) range.
Unarmed Tactics
Cadets are taught the basic movements including stances and shuffles, blocks, stuns and defensive techniques. The four-hour course equips the cadets with the basic knowledge of self-defense and rules of engagement which they could use to defend themselves.
Unit Camp
The cadets immerse themselves in teamwork, leadership and outdoor challenges as they forge bonds with one another. The thrilling experiences unleash the potential of individuals and create unforgettable memories.
Core Programmes
Drills
Discipline is founded in drills. One has to discipline himself / herself to practice drill. The 3rd Class drill badge, 2nd Class drill badge and 1st Class drill badge are awarded to individuals depending on their competencies in drills.
Road Safety
Road safety is conducted for Sec 1 cadets to allow them to have a better understanding of the basics of road safety. They get to be Road Safety Marshalls for Traffic Games in Sec 2.
Visit to Police Establishments
Cadets are given opportunities to have a better understanding about how a Neighbourhood Police Centre works and the history of the SIngapore Police Force through learning journeys at places such as the Police Heritage Centre and the Neighbourhood Police Centre.
Community Safety & Security Programme (CSSP)
The Community Safety & Security Programme for Sec 2 Cadets is to help cadets understand that to be socially conscious is to take ownership of educating the school community on safety and security as well as to assist in enforcing those values and beliefs through actions.
Total Defence
Using the lesson packages designed by NEXUS. Cadets will gain a deeper appreciation of Total Defence, put Total Defence into action, and be advocates for Total Defence. They will also have a deeper understanding of the changing nature of threats and challenges which Singapore face today.
Campcraft
Cadets learn about the knots and lashings that are useful in outdoor settings. They also get to build gadget from poles and twines. Real life situations such as the adventure camp at Pulau Ubin give the cadets opportunities to apply their skills.
SGSecure & Homefront Security
The SFSecure Course and the Homefront Security Course are conducted for the cadets to equip them with the relevant knowledge in identifying terrorism threats and the know-how in managing situations involving terrorism,
Enrichment Courses
Cadets have the opportunities to go through courses such as First-Aid Course for personal development in their four or five years in the unit.
Police Youth Ambassador (PYA)
The Police Youth Ambassador Programme for Sec 3 Cadets is to help cadets to understand that taking ownership in improving the safety and security of the community beyond school is an important part of being socially conscious – serving the common good
Anti-Narcotics Course (SANA)
The course is conducted in collaboration with the Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (SANA) to heighten awareness of the threats of drug abuse, encourage cadets to understand the importance of drug prevention and thus, prevent themselves as well as others in becoming victims to drug abuse. They would then be able to become active advocates in spreading the need for a drug-free Singapore.
