Years 3 to 5 Programmes

Year 3 to 5 NPCC cadets assume leadership roles within the unit,  serving as role models for younger members, embodying values of discipline, teamwork, and civic responsibility.

.22 Classification Shoot

The cadets will go through dry practice sessions to learn about marksmanship principles, safe handling of the revolver and immediate action drills to prepare them for the live shoot at the Home Team Academy (HTA) range. The scores they obtained during the live shoot will determine if they will receive the Marksmanship badge.

E-Crime Scene Investigation Course

The cadets will have an interactive hands-on experience by going through a series of crime scenes set up in mock-up HDB flats and the Virtual Reality (VR) On-Scene Investigation. This allows them to have hands-on experience and apply the crime scene management skills which they have learnt.

Police Youth Ambassador (PYA)

PYA aims to help cadets to understand that taking ownership in improving the safety and security of the community beyond school is an important part of being socially conscious – serving the common good. The cadets will collaborate with police officers from the Queenstown Neighbourhood Police Centre to plan and execute a project to disseminate crime prevention messages effectively to the community. Homefront Security

The HFS course aims for cadets to be advocates of SG Secure and to equip cadets with the relevant knowledge such as greater awareness on specific threats like chemical, biological and radiological, and the consequences attributed to terrorism; the skills and knowledge in identifying suspicious persons or items found in public places and transport; and Public Warning System and Emergency Evacuation Procedures.

The Homefront Security badge is awarded to the cadet who has completed the HFS Course and passed a written test at the end of the course.

Cybercrime Prevention 

The cadets will go through a Cybercrime Prevention Course and conduct a Cybercrime Prevention Activity to spread awareness. Upon completion, the cadets will receive the Cybercrime Prevention Badge.

Total Defence (Gold)

The cadets will initiate, plan and execute a Total Defence-related VIA project that benefits the community at large.  To be awarded the Total Defence (Gold) Badge, the cades must also complete the CPR-AED certification to strengthen Emergency Preparedness skills among cadets and build their confidence in reacting to critical medical emergencies in the community. First Class Drills

The cadets will master advanced drills and develop the ability to command a squad as well as conduct a muster parade.

Unit Camp

The Annual QTSS NPCC camp is organised by the Secondary 4 cadet leaders for all cadets. During the camp, the cadets were given opportunities to lead, to bond, to develop values such as responsibility and to improve skills in NPCC.

Air Pistol Enrichment Programme

The programme provides an opportunity for the cadets to familiarize themselves with the safety procedures and also to learn how to aim properly. For the Secondary 3 cadets, this was also the time when they could prepare themselves for their live round .22 revolver shooting at the Home-Team Academy (HTA).

Cadet Leader

Cadets will be given opportunities to be a cadet leader in Year 3 when the Year 4/5 cadets step down. He or She will assume leadership role within the unit. As a cadet leader, he or she will guide and mentor fellow cadets, enforcing discipline, and facilitating training activities. They play a crucial role in fostering teamwork, instilling values of responsibility and integrity, and contributing to the overall development of cadets within the NPCC.

SPF-NPCC Badge

The SPF-NPCC Badge is the pinnacle badge for NPCC cadets - The highest level of award an NPCC cadet can achieve. The selection is done through several rounds to be one of the top few cadets chosen to receive this prestigious award. This award testifies to the cadets' learning, right attitude as well as their stellar aptitude as NPCC cadets.

Best Unit Cadet

The Best Unit Cadet Award is conferred annually to the top cadet of the unit. The recipients must have excelled in performing their duties, made significant contributions to the Unit and be  excellent role model for younger cadets to follow.
